Back in the day when I was in undergrad...there was no internet, no real cell phones. Computer class programming consisted of going to the computer lab, typing in your program at the terminal, then submitting it to the central computer for processing!
Actually, my Freshman year was the last year the computer department used punch cards (the university was a bit behind then).
When I went to grad school some years later, things were only marginally better!
