Insurance and Medical Care

I hate insurance companies. And I hate the medical system. If I'm dying, then I think the medical system handles things very well -- they can keep you alive. And for common, every day things, I think they also do fairly well -- if you have high cholesterol, they have a pill for you!

But everything in-between just sucks -- it's hard to get the right care for what ails you. I have had a skin thing going on, which got infected -- hence the antibiotics I was taking. That infection is gone now, but the skin is still inflamed. So, today I went to the dermatologist (one recommended by my doctor). Unfortunately, she doesn't take my insurance, so the cost was all on me!

I called around ahead of time...and several dermatologists that I talked to also did not take my insurance. The ones that do take my insurance were making appointments for June and August -- I don't want to wait that long!

This is the same insurance company that I have been with several years when I've worked at other places too -- so it's not a small company -- I think it's just that their reimbursement rates or policies are so tight that doctors don't want to deal with the hassle. So, they just don't accept that insurance.

So, I came home tonight, had a nice glass of wine...and here's some eye candy, lol! (And yes, B and K, I HAVE had a lot of eye candy on the journal lately, lol!)
