Monday

I'm pretty tired tonight. I worked today, for the first time in months, right?

Got caught in a rainstorm downtown at lunchtime -- the weather looked fine when we went to lunch, but the skies opened just as we were making our way back to the office!

I rushed home to do my normal 6 mile walk. Then cooked dinner, so now I'm pooped!

A house on the route of my walk has a beautiful, big, climbing rose! And it has a wonderful scent. Without knowing for sure, I think it might be The Fairy.

On a different topic, I had the most vivid sex dream about a friend of mine last night. I mean, all I can say is damn. I can't even type most of it here without jeopardizing my PG-13 blog reputation! There were several vignettes in the dream. Probably the most tame was the last "scene" of the dream which involved the two of us having sex on a train car that was full of other people, lol!

I am often both participant and 3rd party observer in my dreams. I remember being very amused (in a 3rd party observer sort of way) in the dream that my "partner" kept looking over the seat to see if the other people on the train car noticed what was going on in the front seats, lol!

Today Stuff...and Old Repeating Dream

Not much to report on today...

I did a load of laundry when I got home tonight and just noticed that there is water (and suds) all around the washer in the basement. Turns out the drain hose has a hole in it where it goes into the drain pipe. So, I'm off to Lowe's to buy a replacement. I will probably wait until later tomorrow or Sunday to replace -- to give the basement time to dry.

I was cleaning up some old e-mails and found this old dream that I had back in 2005. Since I have nothing to say today, I'll publish this --

I’m in a semi-urban environment (think a cross of Williamsburg and Richmond -- which make sense since I went to school in both places), and I have classes to attend. In the dream, I'm always late to class, can never remember where or when the class is held, so I'm always rushing.

In part of the dream, there’s a woman next door who is holding out and asking about a steamed mushroom dish. She turns out to be the Barefoot Contessa from the Food Network – I haven't seen her in a while, so it seems funny that the dream picked her face.

There’s also a "love interest"…a guy in one of my classes, who is now in a coma because of something the “bad guy” in the dream did to him. The “bad guy” is also in school.

There was some part where the “bad guy” and the comatose “love interest” are riding some train through a tunnel...but I don't want to get all Freudian here…(I think I spent some time on the train too in the dream, lol).

At some point, the "love interest" wakes up from the coma, and we spend some time together, so all’s well that ends well.

The details are fading now, but there’s a part of the dream where the “bad guy” and his gang of ruffian students shoot a gun at me….I jump directly upwards to avoid the bullet (think The Matrix), and the bullet hits and kills the Barefoot Contessa (there's always an expendable extra on every set...), and I start shouting bloody murder, like I'm in some Jack the Ripper re-creation in old London, lol.

Dream

I'm recording this dream because I think it may be recurring -- it seemed familiar...I have recurring dreams sometimes and they can be pretty entertaining, although this one is not particularly so.

Not much action --- essentially, I was over at a part of the county where my father grew up and where some paternal family still lives. We were at a family cemetary where my paternal great grandparents are burried and also at the houses of the paternal family members. I think I remember thinking that we were drinking cheap beer that didn't pack much punch for me.

I was talking to some of the paternal family that I haven't seen since I was a child. And, of course, I was taking pictures.

There was a person in the pictures that didn't belong...some blond woman...and a song from the 1980s was the background music for the dream, lol...and I think I labeled the blond woman as the singer of that song.

Part of the subject matter for this dream came from a visit home a few weekends ago where my father and mom and I actually drove over to that area because my father wanted to make sure I knew where that family cemetary was -- but we couldn't get to it because the new owners of the land surrounding it had a locked gate on the entrance to their property, so we couldn't drive in.

I don't remember too much else...

Dark Dream

Just had a dream that gave me a sense of expectancy / waiting.

It was set in a cemetary. I had been in the "family car," which was quite full, so I got out to walk.

It was a large cemetary and at night with stars, but I don't remember a moon. It was on a hill and I was walking downhill at first.

At one point a woman and child that I didn't know ran by me on the path. They were dressed in antique clothing.

A dog stayed with me the entire time. At one point a rabbit jumped out of the brambles that I was pushing through and almost hit me in the face. Now that I think of it, the dog's face was a bit rabbit-like, lol. The dog would stop and curl up on the ground when I stopped -- like he was hanging out with me...keeping me company.

I remember talking to my sister on the cell phone at one point, and she said she would make some noise so I could find the gravesite. I think at that point, she hooted in the distance, but I never found the gravesite.
